I’ve long had a passion for connecting great products and services with people. This means delivering the right message at the right time to the right people; while making it stick. What intrigues me is finding that tipping point where small events can propel something to catch on at large scales. It's different for every product and service, thats what makes the puzzle so fun to solve. I'm data driven, of course, but I understand that data doesn't live in a vacuum. While I absolutely love numbers (math was my favorite subject), it takes human intuition to crack the code of what triggers people to connect. As a tinkerer, it is rewarding to build things that not only work, but works to help make life a little more simple - for personal or professional use. By continuing to making the small and large things work, I truly believe I’ll can make a positive impact in the world of tomorrow. "For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them." - Aristotle At this point in my life, I decided to pivot towards working on something genuinely meaningful to me and something I was authentically passionate about. Thus, Short of Shoes, a blog about well-made shoes was born. This project truly encompasses everything I am passionate about: shoes, photography, videography, design, marketing, and even a little coding. I was instrumental in growing the the luxury healthcare startup’s revenues to over $4 million a year. While overseeing all marketing activities (and all IT responsibilities for a year), I managed a team of three which resulted in successfully completing many major projects. As the youngest on the leadership team, I worked closely with the executives on high-level strategy and business development. During my time with Wrappled, an online retailer of successfully crowdfunded products, I was a key contributor to the startup. I implemented successful inbound and marketing automation strategies, from content generation to email marketing and media creation. My versatile set of skills really shined through as the company grew quickly; we hired four interns whom I managed. I served in several positions over 5 years as I climbed the ranks at the food distributor. I started as an intern, but was quickly promoted as an Accounting Assistant for a subsidiary startup. From there I managed special projects including the inception of a web-based natural beef retailer. I took on a challenging dual role responsibility in Sales/Transportation where I delivered increased department efficiency. I'm open to all types of opportunities including consulting, partnerships, jobs, freelancing and more.Want to know about Alex Deleon?
